It's Tuesday!

Here are a few ideas I have been thinking about for my late summer garden lunch.  I really like these sunflower plates.  I am uncertain about which glassware I want to go with it.  I may have to visit Homegoods or Pier One again.  I was thinking of the green bubbly tuscan style glasses that are short and squatty.   I will be serving grilled flatbread pizzas with roasted veggies and assorted grilled meats such as chicken and italian sausage, a roasted veggie balsamic pasta salad or a garden salad,  artisan breads or breadsticks with the assorted dips like I had on my vacation,  cannolis,  caramel apple cake or a rich chocolate turtle cake or chocolate cupcakes with sunflowers on top.  My guests are my aunts and cousins and all we drink is Diet Coke with ice cubes and a slice of lemon or lime.   I have my three tier stand from Smith & Hawken and ramekins for all my assorted pizza toppings and dips.   I have my zinc galvanized trays from S & H and Pottery Barn.  I also have a 4 hole sugar mold to hold all the flatware on the buffet.   I will definitely take pics when this takes place in a few weeks (after the fair...)

Love those sunflowers plates!!! In addition to Pier 1, I've seen the bubbly glasses at Kohls. Love how you folded the napkin, too!
Great late summer tablescape since your china will look great for fall, too! Susan

Beautiful summer table setting. I adore those plates and the cloth under them matches so well.

If you're taking votes, I'd vote for the third glass--the clear one. For some reason, drinks just taste better when you can see the color of the drink.

Hi,

Your plates sure would have a place in our house, the dinning room and living room have Sunflowers everywhere. Great choice!!!

My vote, though I'm not entitled to one, goes for the apple caramel cake. It just seems to go with the (about to be) changing season. I also favor a clear glass. Then there is no competition with your dishes. Best luck with your get together.

Thanks for all your very kind comments. Susan, this is fun. Thanks for the wonderful ideas and everyone's votes and suggestions definitely count. Next week I will step up to the plate - so to speak - with a little more effort. If you had a chance to read my previous posts, you will know that I very well could have just shown you a tablescape of a variety of grilled meats. The new fridge was delivered just a few minutes ago. Next day delivery my a--! ) Almost like two and a half day delivery....) ~ Robyn
