BLUE MONDAY!

                        Welcome to Blue Monday!

An afternoon of antiquing with Jacob is never a dull moment.
Of course, he brought along his geiger counter.
He likes to test dishes and glassware for radiation.
Apparently, dishes that are glazed with oranges
and reds prior to 1973 are contaminated.
Click above to read more about it.
Others in the store were fascinated with his
contraption.  They wanted him to
test this and test that.

I fell in love with this Roseville pitcher.

They were having an Anniversary Sale
at
White Bear Antiques
25% off everything in the store!
I got it for $16.75!!!

We entered the drawing above
and chose our three favorites
from this selection.
And Score!
We both won!
Jacob won his first choice
The Little Brown Jug!
And I won
the
Rabbit Cookie Jar!

It's Pink Saturday!

Were you aware that Coach has their own perfume?

The  fragrance is a blend of
soft florals such as,
water lily, violet, jasmine, orange flower and genet flower.
With the light citrusy scents of
green mandarin, and guava and
with heady undertones such as
honey,  mimosa,
amber, vanilla and precious woods.

It is a very pretty scent.
It is not strong.
You know, how some perfumes
give you a headache right after you apply them?
This one does not.
They got it just right.
It is not "sweet".
It is not "Woodsy".
It is a very  "clean" scent.

They describe the fragrance as an Eau d parfum,
which is stronger and longer lasting than a eau de toilette,
or a cologne spray.

It also comes packaged as a solid
in the cutest little package
that looks just like the
Coach Hangtag.

This perfume solid sells for $40.

The above colorful bottle is a limited edition package.
Each eau de parfum bottle comes with it's
own cute little rhinestone
encrusted hangtag.

This bottle is the original and current package.

This  1.7 oz. spray sells for $75.

These  purse sprays are $45 each.

Be sure to check out the Coach website
for other products that are available.

PINK SATURDAY ~ brought to you by the letter "C"

Today is Pink Saturday
which is brought to you today
by the  letter "C".

Today it was  5 below at noon.
I wanted something comforting and warm
How about some Chicken soup with Dumplings .

This is the cutest little car.
Have you seen these around?
This is a Smart Car.
Me & my friend Mary
 went to the Outlet Mall
shopping last weekend.
(Sorry no photos - I brought the camera
but forgot to take them).

Cooking on the Cuisinart Griddler is a snap!
I've created Pork Chops, Chicken Breasts,
Steaks & Burgers
and they all  are cooked to perfection!

My Dad was craving Oatmeal Craisin Pecan Cookies.
I baked a batch or two
this afternoon.
I could always eat
a good Cookie!

Chocolate!
Need I say More?

Cavities.
Well, I personally don't want one,
but I work in a dental office
and they bring me Cash!

I Know,
I am a Diet Coke addict.
I have to start my day with an icy cold can of Diet Coke!

Candy.
These cherry juju hearts
are my absolute favorites.
I LOVE how they get stuck
in my teeth.
(I brush & floss.)

Who can resist a Coach Handbag?
Especially one purchased
at the Coach Outlet Store!
Isn't it Cute?

Cottage Style.
I adore checks.
I have them in every room of my house.

Cabbage Roses & Checks!
Double bonus!

Okay, I could go on and on....
Elizabeth

I'm Hooked On...

Meatloaf!

Notice how mine is encapsulated in bacon.
That is probably the only part
that Jacob eats.

On a cold winter day
it's a warm comforting meal.

I'll give you my recipe
if you give me yours.

The Best is the
leftover
Meatloaf Sandwich!

Don't forget to visit Julia @ Hooked on Houses
to see what everyone else is Hooked on too.

Yep, I've been tagged, too.

I've been photo tagged by Madame French
and

I know that I won't be able to top their photos,
but here is my 4th photo from my 4th folder on my older laptop.
Jacob and I were playing with the webcam
Photo Booth feature on the computer.

So the rules to this tag are as follows:

Go to your 4th  photo folder on your computer.
*
Post the 4th photo from that folder.
*
Explain the photo.
*
Tag 4 fellow bloggers to join in the fun!

Sally @ Salmagundi
Emily @ me & em

I would graciously like to thank "D" from D's Daydreams
for my next award.

This truly means a lot to me!
This award is passed on to those blogs that you
are found to be charming.

I am to choose 8 blogs that I feel are truly charming

I say that I cannot choose just 8 so I pass it
on to all blogs listed on my blogroll.

It is now past my bedtime and tomorrow's schedule
is a doozy!   I better get to bed!

Oops! A Little Bit Late - But I Can't Find My Before Pics!

Here are pictures of the furniture
in our sunroom.
(You may remember this from RMS.)
I ordered the furniture
from
Pottery Barn.
The cushions were
sold with a white duck twill covering.
That would never do in my home.
It is a sunporch, afterall.
I have a dog,
I like to eat chocolate
and Cheetoes.
So, I made the slipcovers.
I made them so that
they can be reversed.
(That will be featured in a future post...)
On the other side of the cushions
the material is the red gingham checks.

Also, I swapped out the roller shades
in the windows for
the matchstick blinds.

My second project
is the kitchen.
(Which was also posted on RMS.)
Although it was started in 2007.
It was completed this past winter.
I do not have a good
before picture.
We started with the appliances.
I bought the stove and microwave first.
Then we added the hardwood floor and the dishwasher drawers.
As you can see,
me and my Dad installed the floor!
(Honest, I did help - I didn't just stand there
and snap photos....)

Next came the Silestone countertop and the
French door refrigerator.

I know that most of you
do not care for upper cabinets,
but I chose to leave them in place.
I need  all the storage I can get
to hide all my dishes!

Sorry, this was posted so late....
I am on my new computer.
I don't have my photos transferred
onto this one yet.  I  thought I could get them
from RMS,  (but I can't even sign on -
it's so - I don't know....I throw up my
hands in disgust!)

Thanks for understanding.

Blue Monday!

Welcome to Blue Monday!
Visit
for the list of  all the blue participants.

This weekend we attended an antique sale
at our local
HarMar Mall.

This pair of salt & pepper shakers were JUST $75.00.

Jacob brought along his geiger counter to check
for all the vaseline glass and the orange and red fiesta ware.  It turns out they are
loaded with radiation.

I LOVE these glasses, but at $38.00 each they were a little
rich for my blood today.   (Remember, I have a boy that will
be driving soon! )  Also, they had one plate that matched,
wouldn't it be a cute set for the sunporch?  I may have to look for
more of these in the future.

Here is a puzzle update!
Jacob snapped in the last piece yesterday!
Now we have the crossword puzzle left to do.
We are are waiting for Gramma
to help us with that
because she loves
to do her Crossword Puzzles!

I wanted to share these little penguins with you.
Visit Brokenyolks for their recipe.
Rubybean assures us that they
are easier than they look and
oh, so tasty!

Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Remember the little Furby?
This one is a McDonald's Happy Meal toy
from 1998.
Jacob was organizing his closet
and found this little guy.

Crackers were opened on
New Year's Eve.
Jacob received a mini screwdriver set,
Grampa received a mini tape measure,
Gramma received a toenail clipper,
and
I got the loot in the picture.....
The blue thingy is a tissue paper crown.

It can only go up from here....

A Puzzling New Year!

The New Year
was a puzzle to us!

Grampa & Gramma joined in on the challenge!

Let me tell you
it is a doozy!

We're still working on it!
You'd think this would be easy....

After the jigsaw is completed
you need to work the
Crossword Puzzle, too!

At the countdown
crackers were opened!

All the festivities
 was just
too much
for
Miles!
