Here are pictures of the furniture
in our sunroom.
(You may remember this from RMS.)
I ordered the furniture
from
Pottery Barn.
The cushions were
sold with a white duck twill covering.
That would never do in my home.
It is a sunporch, afterall.
I have a dog,
I like to eat chocolate
and Cheetoes.
So, I made the slipcovers.
I made them so that
they can be reversed.
(That will be featured in a future post...)
On the other side of the cushions
the material is the red gingham checks.
Also, I swapped out the roller shades
in the windows for
the matchstick blinds.
My second project
is the kitchen.
(Which was also posted on RMS.)
Although it was started in 2007.
It was completed this past winter.
I do not have a good
before picture.
We started with the appliances.
I bought the stove and microwave first.
Then we added the hardwood floor and the dishwasher drawers.
As you can see,
me and my Dad installed the floor!
(Honest, I did help - I didn't just stand there
and snap photos....)
Next came the Silestone countertop and the
French door refrigerator.
I know that most of you
do not care for upper cabinets,
but I chose to leave them in place.
I need all the storage I can get
to hide all my dishes!
Sorry, this was posted so late....
I am on my new computer.
I don't have my photos transferred
onto this one yet. I thought I could get them
from RMS, (but I can't even sign on -
it's so - I don't know....I throw up my
hands in disgust!)
Thanks for understanding.
Robyn

Hi Robyn! Better late than never and I loved seeing your porch and what you've done. The slip covered cushions are so pretty. Love it that they're reversible. And your kitchen! Wonderful. Boy, I would never not want to have upper cabinets. Like you, I need the space!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
What lovely photos and isn't it wonderful when you are at the "after" part. I love both rooms.

Your rooms look great! I love your kitchen! I can't wait to start mine! I have decided on a floor and countertop. I found the neatest store! My DH is ready to kill me because of the price. I can't help it...I just have to have it! This may be a slow process due to funds. I may just end up working at a home improvement store! :)
I am so so so so so so so so so so
SO Sorry to be so late in getting to read all the new things going on in your life. I am just slow and old and busy and have lots of reasons cooked up but, really, I will do better. Got lots of projects starting with this new year and I am excited about that..
I adore your kitchen. I would never get rid of upper cabinets, either. Need them and need them bad!!Oh, and the sun porch...just delightful and aren't you the smart one to make the slipcovers do two-way duty...I love that idea...
