Blue Monday!

Welcome to Blue Monday!
Visit
for the list of  all the blue participants.

This weekend we attended an antique sale
at our local
HarMar Mall.

This pair of salt & pepper shakers were JUST $75.00.

Jacob brought along his geiger counter to check
for all the vaseline glass and the orange and red fiesta ware.  It turns out they are
loaded with radiation.

I LOVE these glasses, but at $38.00 each they were a little
rich for my blood today.   (Remember, I have a boy that will
be driving soon! )  Also, they had one plate that matched,
wouldn't it be a cute set for the sunporch?  I may have to look for
more of these in the future.

Here is a puzzle update!
Jacob snapped in the last piece yesterday!
Now we have the crossword puzzle left to do.
We are are waiting for Gramma
to help us with that
because she loves
to do her Crossword Puzzles!

I wanted to share these little penguins with you.
Visit Brokenyolks for their recipe.
Rubybean assures us that they
are easier than they look and
oh, so tasty!

Happy Blue Monday, Robyn! Those piggies are very cute, as are the penguin treats. My niece LOVES penguins, so I already went and got the recipe!
I love your new blog colors/design, too! It's so textural!

Thos penguins are too cute!! What a sweet idea!

The puzzle is done eh? I am so impressed!!

(Love the Furby! I have one but his *voice* is a bit garbled now...phooey. I remember when McD's had those little ones!)

I love those S&P shakers! I happen to adore pigs, lol!
The penguins are cute but that wouldn't stop me from munching out big time!
Radiation? Wow! Kind of makes a person stop and think before making a purchase. We have an old Coca Cola ice cooler and it has "lead" in the paint but it tested pretty low so we're okay to have it.

My mom had a set of salt & pepper shakers like that when I was a little girl. I've seen those penguins before. Cute idea.

Isn't it fun to go to antique shows & auctions? Even if it is too rich for our blood sometimes...to me it is like going to a museum of sorts.

Cute piggies, Robyn, and those penguins are precious! I attempted one of those recipes for cupcakes, and my silly attempt is going to be posted tomorrow. LOL! I might be brave enough now to try the penguins... but then again! lol!

Happy Blue Monday,

Sheila :-)

Those little penguins are just darling!

That's scary that the glass has radiation!

Love your post, especially the S&P shakers!

Cute S&P shakers. Why so much radiation in the Feista ware and Vasaline Glass?

Happy Blue Monday!

Wow, those little pigs are expensive and very collectible. People love them. I don't understand the reason for the geiger counter. Does the radiation mean they are not repros?
I love the penguins and they don't look hard to make. The crossword puzzle looks so difficult. Good job.

Hugs...Jeanne

Wow, those are some pricey salt and pepper shakers!! They are cute though! The puzzle looks like it was a lot of work! Oh, and the penguins are adorable!!!

You... actually take a Geiger counter with you when you go shopping? now that's what I call being prepared.

The penguins are clever though... I'll have to remember those. I'm guessing that's cream cheese or a derivative of it in the "stuffing"?

Thanks for visiting, wow the salt and pepper shakers are expensive! I love the little penguins! Who thinks of these things, I am so uncreative in that way!

Bridget said...

I was so jealous when I saw the piggy shakers, I thought they were cookie jars. I have a reproduction of the boy pig. The originals are crazy expensive.
Thanks for your prayers for my daughter. She is feeling so much better now.
Happy New Year, Bridget

Those piggies are adorable, but 75.00 is a bit rich for me. I am afraid my frugal husband would not see the humor if I bought those! :)
Thanks for sharing with us-oh, and what in the world is vaseline glass??

Hi Robyn,

I do love our new floor, maybe too much, because now I'm wishing that the others will get done soon. But I'm not looking forward to the work that goes along with it. :(

Hi Robyn :)

Easy? I say she lies, like a rug LOL There is no way those penguins are easy to make! Cute though :)

Great job on the puzzle! I bought a box of them and Annie did the little ones, but we have yet to bring out the big ones. Maybe when we're waiting for furniture??

Cute shakers!!

Good morning to you! Love the little penguins and those pigs are the cutest! Hope you are enjoying the New Year.

Don't you just love to go treasure hunting? My 14-year old daughter and her friend love to go with me to antique malls....they like finding old care bears, the ones that talk. They get tickled by the things that are said, and they think it sounds creepy....sort of like being afraid of clowns. I think you found some terrific (if not expensive) items. Keep hunting! Sometimes people don't know the value of things they have and that's when you hit pay dirt! Enjoy.

OM gosh! Those penguins are too cute! I didn't know Fiestaware and Vaseline glass had radiation in them. YIKES! You're right, that stuff was too expensive for my taste! Thanks for following. I always love it when my blogging buddies drop by!

I laughed when I read your comment because you don't NEED any help! LOL! You get more comments than I do, not that I'm jealous b/c jealousy isn't good! ;O) I would only suggest what Bo said to me, if you move your followers up to the top of the blog, it will make it much easier for viewers to find. You had so many awards down there, I barely noticed it! :O) Have a great weekend!
