My 14 year old dachshund doesn't sense it anymore because she doesn't hear or see very well. However, when college boy walks in the door she couldn't be happier and she's stuck to him the whole time. They have their own language.
what a cutie pie, I have a white schauzer also, and a salt n pepper schnauzer, they hear my husband when he turns on our street, my Mom said her schnauzer heres me when I stop at the stop sign down the street, she runs to the window to wait.
This dogs on Thurs. is new to me. Did you know I have a pack of 6...I love dogs better than anything. My sister has a little one like yours, spoiled rotten! Thanks for stopping by my blog and the sweet note that you left there.
AWWW, that is so sweet. It IS amazing how dogs have that incredible sense. When I was growing up, our house became over populated with dogs, and my Dad took one of them to people who rented our farm land. Most Sunday afternoons, we would drive up for Dad to see the farm and my sister and I to see "Brownie". She would always be waiting on the side of the road before we ever got to the farm. The family who rented the farm land told us that was the only time she ever left their yard. When we got a new car, we thought she wouldn't be there to meet us, and we were so surprised to see her sitting there, waiting when we got close to the farm! Sorry for this long comment. You just brought back some great memories for me! laurie
Oh that was so sweet. I love to see that joy they get when that special person is about to arrive. Our baby gets so twitchy when Miss Silly is within sniffin' distance. All I have to say is "Katie's coming" and she runs to the back door and starts dancing around.
Ohh, I just love dogs. My little Kingsley constantly amazes me. How on earth does she know what "We're going over to Bo's (her dog friend) house" mean? So much fun.
Hi Robyn! Oh, how precious! I agree with you about our doggies! This look like Chloe Dawn - she sits and looks out the windows even when there's nothing out there to see! :) Be a sweetie, shelia ;)
Robyn-- Thanks for stopping by today. We lived in Sidney on the Montana-North Dakota border - lots and lots of snow and wind. That was in 1966-1971 - way before your time. Five years was enough of that weather. Give me Colorado any day where the snow melts the same day it falls. Have a great weekend. Sally
They DO know! Kipper just senses when it is time for Grace's bus to arrive, Dan to get in from work and when Bill will be home from the base. I don't know HOW but they do!
I ♥ Miles...I would steal him away in a heartbeat!!!! My dogs are jealous of my lust for Miles lol. And you're right...they just know. I swear about 5 minutes before the hubby comes home they are both at the window...and he doesn't even come home the same time everday...it's kind of eerie

They always stand guard at a window, and you're right: they do KNOW when someone they love (who feeds them) is coming.

Very sweet! They do know... Sissy often somehow senses when the Knight is almost home and won't come in if she's out.
