Foodie & Fertilizer Friday!

I'm joining
for
Fertilizer Friday
for
Foodie Friday
today.

I thought that you would like to see
my version of the
Succulent Wreath.
Carefree
and
works in the shade!

Since today is Fertilizer Friday
and we're all going
to be busy in our gardens today,
and Rhubarb is in season and all,
I thought this
5 ingredient dessert
would be perfect for today.

Dice 2 cups of Rhubarb.
(I thought that this picture was kinda pretty.)

Place in a traditional 9x13 pan.

Add one 15 oz. can
of
Crushed Pineapple
 in its own syrup.

Melt one stick of Butter.
Spread dry yellow cake mix
straight from the box -
evenly over fruit.
Pour melted butter over all.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
I used Walnuts.
You could also use Pecans.

Bake in a 350 degree oven
for 1 Hour.

Someone couldn't wait...
(and burned his tongue)

Serve with Whipped Topping.
Actually, Cool Whip (gasp)
tastes best with this.

Well, our rained stopped
and it warmed up a bit,
so I went out to plant
the Lamb's Ears.

Look what I uncovered....
At first I noticed the
white round ball.
I almost picked it up.
Ewwwww!

It's a Wolf Spider
with an egg sac
stuck to it's spineret.
&
It moves fast -
egg sac and all.
Creepy!!!

It scurried quickly into the Coneflower.
We decided to leave it alone...

Somebody had to have this gadget,
let's just say it wasn't me.

I guess my herbs needed watering.

The lawn was okay.

Here's one last look
at the
Pansies.
Their job is done.
Spring has sprung.
They are retiring
to the backyard.
Hopefully, the new plants
will be planted in time
for Met Monday!

Sorry this was long winded today,
now I'm off to check out
the other great recipes
and gardens featured today!

Your dessert looks so delicious. It reminds me of the dump cakes I used to make for pot lucks at work. They were always sooo good! ☺ Diane

Your wreath and cake are both wonderful. I love any recipe that is both easy and delicious especially now that it is summer time and I don't want to be in the kitchen all day.

I love that succulent wreath, very pretty and your dessert sounds so good. Too bad I'm sugar-free, they need to come out with a splenda cake mix!

Thanks for joining me this week!!! I hope you will keep joining...I was wondering if you made that wreath??? you should make another and show us how...
as for the water guage...."someone" doesn't know it...but they are garbage..I should know...I am embarassed to say that I have several of them....I am even more embarassed to say that when I was offered any free gift with the purchase of my seeds last year (there was a lot) I chose a light meter....yes yes I did...appearantly just opening my eyes was not good enough for me. AND....I use it in the....GREENHOUSE....which is a clear building....yes...if it is not light in there...it means its night time!!!lol but don't tell anyone K?

The cake looks delicious. Loved the wolf spider, really I did. I had one living on a tree in my house for the longest time. I called him Wolfie. He didn't bother anyone, and I brought in little bugs for him or gave him fruit flies. My granddaughters thought it was great and always looked for him on the tree. One day he just disappeared and we found him shriveled up. I think he was with us for about nine months.

Gorgeous wreath, Robyn. I've always wondered if I could keep one of these alive!

The rhubarb dessert looks delish!

Robyn-- To answer your question - the rescue boat was just on a practice mission. We have lots and lots of rafters on our part of the river, so we have quite an active search and rescue team! Wyatt was fascinated with their practice. Have a great weekend. Sally

Thanks for stopping by -- your succulent wreath is beautiful -- so much fuller than mine! I've made living wreaths "forever" -- pansies in spring and herbs in summer -- but the herbs suffer by July -- thought the succulents would last all summer!

Love anything rhubarb!

Thanks for stopping by my blog :-) I love your pansies - so bright and pretty. My rhubarb is coming along; not really ready for eating yet but soon. I'll have to try out your recipe when it's ready.

Those pansies are gorgeous, but that spider with her egg is not! Yuk! I was going to go to bed soon, but I have spider phobia,so I may have to stay up awhile now! That pie sounds soooo good, and yes, the colors in that picture are so pretty. Great post (except for Mrs. Spider! Just kidding, sort of!) laurie

Hi Robyn, I love rhubarb. It is everywhere on the hedge vege stalls in Guernsey at the moment. I do a similar recipe called Rhubarb Cobbler (you can see it on my recipe list on my sidebar) and it is a nice way to get the kids to try more fruit they may not have otherwise eaten. I think your succulent wreath is gorgeous. You have inspired me to give one a try; I hope it looks as good as yours!

I hate spiders. Do those bite?

Rhubarb is not something I've ever eaten, but I think I might have to try that recipe. Sounds pretty easy.

The succulent wreath is so beautiful. Did you make it?

Now about the spider...
I was just finishing my morning coffee and starting to head to the door to go work in the yard and then I scrolled down and saw your discovery. I would absolutely have a heart attack if I were digging in the dirt and a big old wolf spider popped out carried a bazillion babies on it's backside. I will have the hibby-jibbys all day! Yikes!!!!

I enjoy the music on your blog.....cool stuff!

Have a great weekend!

P.S. Thanks for the recommendation to link to Christine's Travel and Advnentures Saturday!

This was so enjoyable, Robyn, and just what I needed today. The expression on Mr. Couldn't WAit's face is precious, and the rhubarb crumble looks like a keeper. I love the succulent wreath, too. I am so overcome with holes in the fence that I wish I could do a Met Monday on my before (holes) and afters (rock cairns piled crudely in front of holes), but I'm going to wait until I finish hanging those curtains. LOL
