Sometimes, you just crave
A White Castle or
A "Slyder".
(Well, they are so small,
you can't eat just one...)
The little burgers have
been around a very long time.
I believe they got their start
in the 1920's.
At that time,
they were a mere 5¢.
They are steam-grilled on
a bed of onions
and served with a pickle
on a soft steamed bun.
(We don't tell
Jacob - the onion-hater
that part.)
The ironic part is that he LOVES them.
I think they are only available
in a handful of states.
Do you have one near you?
If so, are you a fan?
Don't forget to visit
She's hosting this Fun
Blue Monday
event!

I remember those from my honeymoon in 1958. Yum! I looked it up and found that although we no longer have the restaurants, the product is sold all over the place! Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
I never had those pictured, but I did have BK's Burger Shots this weekend lol. Fun blue post!
When I was a teen in MI we used to eat those all the time.
Brings back memories.
I've never seen any in our area. You have my mouth watering. Happy Blue Monday.

MMMM White Castle :) Happy Blue Monday!
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to finally get around to visiting your blog! It's such a fun blog and I love your postings!
Can you believe I've never had a White Castle hamburger? They used to have one of their restaurants in Toledo, which is an hour away, but I think it is no longer there. Even though I'm on a diet, I would definitely be able to have one of those little burgers! They sound delicious.

We always hear about White Castle out here on the West Coast. Unfortunately we don't have them here. They look really good!!
We used to have Quick Way, ten little burgers for a $1.00. I have noticed that they are going back to smaller burgers which is great with me because I have never been a triple burger kind of girl.
Have a Wonderful Day

I've never had the pleasure of eating one. I also miss the In & Out burgers from the West coast...they don't have anything good out here in New England!
We don't have White Castle, but we can buy them frozen at the grocery store. I'm sure it's not the same though.
We don't have any of those little burgers where I live. I'm feeling deprived.

Oh yes, we have WC in St. Louis and we all love 'em. Actually, you either love 'em or you hate 'em. There is no in between on these little burgers.
Hi Robyn ... I grew up eating White Castles in the St. Louis area .... their shakes also bring back many fond memories. Bring 'em on I say, bring 'em on!
