What a fascinating post! I didn't know those things! I am sorry to hear about your cold sore, I do so hate them! Hears to hoping it will go away fast! As a bonus, it was pink! LOL! Happy Pink Saturday!
A great post. It's always nice to learn something new. Our local drug stores are usually limited in their products - but I'll look to see if I can find these. Hugs, Sweetie
Wow. This is the kind of gum I chew!!!! I get mine in the health food aisle and I just miss it when I run out! I HAVE to have it after eating...just freshens up my mouth. SO different from regular (icky) gum!
We love this kind of gum at my house, and both of my kids have made it through their teens without a cavity :o) Makes one wonder why dentists didn't think of coating *our* teeth with plastic sealant stuff back in the 60s ...
Sorry to hear about the coldsore, Robyn. My grandma saved the juice from dill pickle jars and made us rinse our mouths with it when we had coldsores ... when they were on our lips, she made us lay a slice of dill pickle on them as long as we could stand it, several times a day. Dunno if it's the vinegar or the dill, but it helps.
Then again, if you do it long enough and have faith, the darn thing will probably cure itself, huh?
Hi Robyn, thanks for reminiscing with me about Grandma's dishes. I am amazed that she used to "dish out" everything into serving bowls, WITH NO DISHWASHER! Today we use paper plates. A long time ago when my daughter had a cold sore, we were told to put benedryl and milk of magnesia on it. I can't remember if it worked or not. Have a great day!
Thanks for the visit. I love xylitol and have used it for several years. I just don't like the price. It's a little pricy. You should also try stevia. Thanks for the visit. Denise
That an interesting fact to share on Pink Saturday! Its so good to see something that you can or chew or enjoy thats really good for you. I'll have to ask about that. That would be good for my granddaughter too. I gather you have to buy it from your dentist. I hope your cold sore is feeling better now. Thank for you for sharing. Judi
Gosh girl...I learn something new every day....I have never seen or heard of that..that is amazing info! Thanks for coming by...I even had 'breakfast' for supper tonight! lol lol

Glad to have that info. I always wonder about gum for my grandchildren - I assume this is also good for the kids? Sally
I can see it now:
Teacher: "Johnny, no gum is allowed in school!"
Johnny: "Teach, my mom and my dentist say I must!"
Happy Pink Saturday!
I never heard of this before. How interesting! Good to know. -Julia :-)

Great PSA! I'll have to look for this. I'm not a gum chewer but I may have to start. Do 9 out of 10 dentist recommend it? lol

I've heard about xylitol before and know it's a good substitute sweetener to sugar. Enjoying meeting all the Pink Saturday ladies.

Perfect! I like Public Service Announcements for Pink Saturday.

Just want to note that xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs, so keep the gum well away from the furry ones.
