My Dining Room Chair Seats Are Going Flat - Does That Mean My Butt Is Getting Fat?

Yep, it's that time again.  The dining room chairs need to be recovered.  The padding inside has gone kaput!   They just don't make padding like they used too.  I mean geez, I thought I just did them....
I ran to JoAnn Fabrics  this afternoon and lucky me the decorator fabrics were on sale!   I took a stroll through all the bolts of fabrics - too light, too shiny, too much blue (sorry Sally), too red - I have a more brick/terra cotta color throughout, floral pattern too big, too busy, too plain, too thin - lots of fabrics I loved, but just not right for this application.   Here is a swatch of the Capel braided rug that is under the table.   The dining room table and chairs were hand crafted in Montana.  The chairs are made of oak and are very solid.   What I would really like is new  sheath back chairs.  I think that they would mimic the base nicely.

But for now, I have to re-do the chairs I have.

Here are a few photos of some fabrics that appealed to me.  Please let me know which one you would chose.
A    B      CP. Kaufmann Fabric - Paisley & Scroll Fabric - Gypsy Green Tea
These are readily available at JoAnn Fabrics.

Then I found these swatches online at http://www.cottagechicstore.com.

And Because of Blue Monday I am enclosing this photo of my lunch from our little shopping excursion this weekend.  (Could this be the reason my seats are flat?)

Hope you have a nice day,
Robyn

Good morning Robyn :)

I love all those fabrics and I'm having a hard time picking a favorite, because now all I'm thinking about is having a cheeseburger ;)

Your seats are flat because they're ready for some new filling. Happy Blue Monday! I'm glad you made it.

I enjoyed your Blue Monday post, but I like all the fabrics, so I'm no help to you at all! The burger looks like it was good!

Good Morning Robyn,

Thanks for dropping by my place. I like all of the fabrics, I'm sure you'll get what's best for you space.

I shop online for most of mine and have been very plased with all that I've bought. One place is www.barnfabriccenter.com and the other is www.fabricplace.com. The first one's owner is a man called Gary, he has fantastic buys, like $3.99 & $4.99 for all of his on line fabrics, mostly around a holiday. I bought at his store when I lived in Pa. too.

Good luck with your project, drop by my place any time. ;)

Good Morning, I took time to peruse your blog. I love the name - how clever. Being a "blue person" I like the airforce found at http://www.cottagechicstore.com. for your chairs. I really like your dining room arrangement. The windows and placement of your table help to make the room very attractive. I'll be back.

P.S. Most of my grandchildren call me "Sweetie."

too funny!!! you make me laugh. I think the red plaid would look pretty dang good in that room. And it will give it a pinch of spice! And pass me the french fries before they get cold!

I'm still browsing through your old posts, and haven't got to new ones yet, so you might have figured out the fabric thing already...but I like the "Airforce" swatch. I'm not sure how well it matches your rug or if it would be too dark. The sage and oatmeal are good too if you're looking for a more neutral color.
