I thought
I would start out this Foodie Friday
with something enticing.
Everybody loves bacon...
It was on sale this week at the grocery store.
Besides Grampa was craving a BLT....
I've discovered that this is the perfect way to prepare it.
I put tinfoil on a baking sheet.
Spread the bacon out nice and straight.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 18-20 minutes.
It comes out nice & straight & just perfect!
And the clean-up is a snap!
By the time everybody munched on apiece or two,
Grampa barely had enough left for his sandwich.
My Aunt made these yummy brownies
for our Family Reunion Picnic
and I have been craving them ever since.
They're called S'more Brownies.
Start with a regular brownie mix.
They're pretty simple.
They just require these few added extras.
Spread the Brownies into a prepared 9x13 pan
and bake as directed for about 18 minutes.
When you take them out of the oven
immediately cover them with the
entire bag of
Miniature Marshmallows,
and the entire bag of
Hershey's Milk Chocolate Chips.
Then just top it off with
the Graham Cracker squares.
(I think that maybe next time
I may crush the crackers into large chunks
and then sprinkle them on top.)
Return them to the oven
for about 5 minutes
until everything is nice & melty!
They are best
when you let them cool
before eating.
Although that is very hard to do.
Just don't burn your tongue!
Actually, they are better
the Next Day!
for more Foodie Friday!

I love making bacon in the oven it comes out great. I don;t have to clean a greasy stove top. The browns look YUMMY!!! My grandchildren will love these. THANKS!!! Geri
loved that bacon tip! I do mine in the micro, but this is even better. Glad to hear I made you feel great about your own space...lol Can you believe those were in magazines.
That all looks so good! I've tried that bacon trick before and forgot all about it. Thanks!
My g'kiddo's would love those brownies!! Yum!
Oh Robin! I am going to try making my bacon like that. It is always so messy in the microwave and even worse in the skillet. So greasy, and it looks pretty good out of the oven. Now those brownie smores. I am going to be in trouble when I go to the dr.s next week. I am going to try these when the grandkids come on Sunday. What a wonderful treat that would be. Please stop by and say hi. Country Hugs, Sherry
Thanks for the tips and taste treats. The brownie/s'mores look incredible :-). Have a wonderful weekend.
Yum, Robyn. I would like one of these this evening while I'm working on tomorrow's post.
OMG, Robyn, I got a sugar rush just looking at the pics. But OMG, they look SO good. I wish so bad that I could eat sweet stuff. Damn this hypoglycemia!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhh!
And one of these days I'm going to try the bacon in the oven like that. I have an electric griddle that works wonderfully, but I hate cleaning it.
Justine :o )
I've made bacon in the microwave but never in the oven....great idea. Those brownies look delicious and WHO doesn't like S'MORES. I'm making those the next time I make brownies. Happy Friday@
Yummy, glad I stopped by just in time! That is a great idea for the bacon, I hadn't heard of that one before. The smores look delicious. I always love getting new recipes at our family reunion. We usually have it around the 1st weekend in November so that we can be outside! My favorite part is looking at all the photos from the previous reunions. My aunt and uncle are so good about keeping the photo albums updated.
Mmmm...bacon! Nice tip on how to ook it.I haven't had any in ages. I think I'll buy some as my toamtoes should be getting ripe soon and there is nothing better than a BLT sandwich!
The s'mores is one one fabulous dessert!
Have a good weekend!

i too cook th e bacon in oven- it is so much easier- but I never thought of using the tin foil on the sheet pan! I bet that makes it so much easier! it is hard to clean.
I will try the bacon thing tomorrow. Do you cover the bacon? And does it pop and splatter if you don't?
Thanks,
D
