Outdoor Wednesday!

Yeah! It's Wednesday Already!
That means it's Thyme for
Outdoor Wednesday!
If you visit Susan
@
You will see lots of
Pretty flowers and some really
interesting Outdoor Posts!

I am always so relieved
when I see that my precious
little Chicks & Hens survived another winter!

Here's the progress of my sunny side garden.
I've got the Dahlia tubers planted,
Jacob scattered more Oxeye Daisy seeds,
I replanted some Cleome's and Red Salvia Bonfire,
in hopes that the bunnies will leave it be -
Cross your fingers....
(I haven't replanted the Cosmos yet....)
I keep reminding myself -
it's still May! Coneflowers are just poking their
little heads threw the soil, as well as, the Bee Balm.

Last Monday, Jacob and I went to one of my
favorite Ma & Pop greenhouses
that pops up out of the grocery store's parking lot every spring.
The poor little quonset hut was mauled down
by a person having a medical emergency.
Thank goodness, everyone survived.
However, I think that the place was possessed.
Seriously,
They re-built and restocked. So we thought we better
visit to give them a helping hand.
I picked out a big box of flowers for my patio pots.
I placed them on the check-out counter.
We walked away to fill out yet another box.
(Mind you - NO ONE was at the counter....)
The first box flung itself onto the ground.
Then the box full of plants  that I was holding,
jumped out of my hands!
Plants were on the ground.
Do-do-do-do ( Think Twilight zone)
No plants were harmed during this episode.

The salesclerk ran to the box near the counter
and she yelled that she couldn't believe that happened.
We bought our plants and brought them home -
only to drop a box-full on the patio!

Poor little things!  We planted them instantly!

We'll give you an update on their progress
Next Wednesday!

Robyn, first I have to say your blog looks very pretty. Love the banner and you switched to 3 columns, right?

Your yard looks really pretty! A friend of mine just gave me a bunch of purple coneflowers because hers had multiplied too much. Can't wait to get them in the ground. Summer's here!!

Robyn, your garden is looking beautiful and I love your photos. Sorry to hear about the double case of "butterfingers" though it sounds as though all ended well. Have a great day.

Some one should report you to the plant abuse people. Of course my picture would be right on the wall next to yours.
I like the "GROW" command you have placed in the garden. Does it help?

Hello Robyn,
Your garden is looking beautiful and the GROW sign, can I get one ;)
It is amazing how those chicks and hens survive isn't it?
Thanks for sharing!

Gosh! I have always heard that if you shake your tomato vines, they will produce better tomatoes...maybe with all the dropping and throwing around, these new flowers of yours will grow like crazy! hahaaa...
Take care, Robyn..

I love this time of year...seeing all the different varieties of plants and flowers in everyone's gardens. I'm still not use to seeing plants that have bloomed in some states...when ours are still buds.
It's a wonderful preview. Thanks for bringing an early bloom to my garden.
Sweet wishes,
Sara

Robyn,

Happy Friday!!!! I hope your work week went well! :)

Be sure to try the Good Season's salad dressing! It is packed with flavor and it tastes so FRESH! When you go to the grocery store purchase the cruet that comes with it. ($5.00 plus two packs of the mix) I guarantee you will never go back!!!!! :) The dry (dressing) mix also makes a scrumptious rub to put on steak or chicken!!!!

Talk to you soon!!!!

Robyn, Are your hens and chicks any particular variety? I bought some at the nursery last year and they don't look at all like yours. Mine has a big mama w/some small babies attached, and the babies don't get any bigger, even when separated. I saw some like yours in a classy florist shop yesterday for $15 each!!! No way, Jose. I can't justify paying that! You would be in the oney if you wanted to sell yours off, huh? LOL Glad you came by for a visit. Til next time... :-) Sue

Hi Robyn, your garden looks so healthy, I really want to get purple coneflowers and bee balm, it does sound like those plants were a little jumpy lol, they will be okay now they are planted in your garden, hugs, Kathy.
