OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY! Let's Play Catch-UP!

It's good to be back
in front of the computer.
I have so much to tell you,
where should I begin?

Well, I am sure that you've heard
the news. I have joined the masses
of the unemployed. I think that I will
take a little time to kick back and
enjoy my freedom for a few months.
I made the mistake of looking at some
colleges and universities online.
My phone has been ringing off the hook
with offers.
I am totally undecided in what
I would like "to be
when I grow up...."
All I know, is that it won't
be in a small office again.
I need job security and benefits.

Meanwhile, my Mom needs some medical attention.
So it's a good thing
that I am available to take care of her.
Have any of you ever experienced
Cellulitis in your shins?
It's not pretty or fun....
I really feel for her.

The Minnesota State Fair was up and running
for it's full 12 days.
Certainly, Jacob and I couldn't miss that!
Neither could anyone else,
for that matter.
It boasted record attendance.
Almost 2 million visitors this year.
Me and about 160,000 (on average)
of my closest friends a day
were confined to a 320 acre plot.
More about that later this week.

Cousin Jay from Orlando
couldn't miss the fair -
On our "Off-Day" we hosted a BBQ -
Brats and such...Stay tuned -
I'll post that on Foodie Friday!

Jacob went back to school
on the 9th of September.
All I have been hearing is
"Did I tell you how much I hate school..."
(But I think he secretly likes it -
at least the socialization part...)
I really miss having him around here
during the day.
And I'm not thrilled with the
homework battle that ensues each night.

After that, my Uncle Larry & Aunt Betty
from North Carolina came for a visit.
So it was a week of BBQ's, family reunions,
re-visiting old neighborhoods,
and Yahtzee!

Oh, and Jacob has tried
to help curtail our Bunny problem
by installing an electric fence
around the flowers.....
But as you can see - the littlest of bunnies
just shimmy underneath
and eat to their hearts content.
Oh well....

Robyn

Hi Robyn,
I am sorry about your job loss. My hours are way down so I feel your pain. Dan and I spent one day at the fair and of course we loved it but it did seem awfully crowded this year. I needed more time and didn't get to all my favorites! Take care, Cindy

Sounds like you have been a busy lady, it is a good thing you aren't working.
Nice pictures, those darn bunnies will distroy everything if we let them.

I'm taking some time off as well! I have really enjoyed being home with Roy and Molly and being able to go see the older girls (and grandson) whenever I want! Plus, I was really sick of retail....I couldn't take another conference call on why we weren't making our numbers!
I will probably look for something else in the next month or so....for now I'm just catching up!
Have a wonderful day! I love your bunnies~

Robyn, I'm sorry to hear about your job but you seem to have a very upbeat attitude. It's nice that you'll be able to help your mother out. I loved the photo with the bunny in the grass. Too cute! I hope you are having a great day.

glad you are back. I am the one here who hates the school year. I used to love school when I was a kid...I had such a great time with the kids this summer that I just loathe the idea of the school week...and ....I HATE making lunches...and having to be clean enough to pick up and drop off their little bodies! Okay...I miss them a little too! lol

Sorry you lost your job; My 3 oldest sons are in the same boat. The oldest is teaching at a community college (dang, I knew that PhD would be handy some day...), the third has a handyman ad in the paper, and #2...well, let's not talk about him, shall we? It's really too bad the bunnies are such a cute pest, isn't it? I'm very fortunate that the ones in my yard have not found their way around to the back of the house and our veggies! Hugs and well wishes to your Mom, you and Jacob.

I am so sorry about your job loss. I hope with your typing and office skills that you find something soon...

I see the little bunnies like your yard. Funny, I thought they would be getting ready to hibernate by now.

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

I am so sorry about this loss for you. It is so hard...but with your skills and dedication, I know you will find something that suits you when YOU are ready!
Love to you and to your mama. I hope she is feeling better soon.

Mr. Sullivan says things always happen for a reason... I used to have a difficult time believing that, but I really think it is true. Who knows? You may be given the perfect opportunity to show your skills and be rewarded for them handsomely, or you may go back to school and a door will open up another way.... As for now, you're available to help your mom through a health crisis with a lot of needed support. Have faith in the powers that be and all should work out. Take care, friend. Sue

Hi Robyn
a bunny problem oh dear and they can be so bad...cute and bad.
I hope Jacob starts to say he loves school....it worries us moms but as you say he probably does like it.
You're not working now? I didn't realize now. Take some time to figure out what it is you wanna be or do....
Enjoy your family visits...you've been busy...and I do hope your mom finds some relief and feels better soon!
*hugs*
have a good weekend.

Hi Robyn,

Happy that you've returned to blogging, I missed reading your posts. It seems like your having a good time, even thought your job has gone bye-bye. :( I hope that you find something that you'll enjoy much more.

I'm with you went it comes to homework, I think I hated it more then the kids did. I wanted us to spend time doing things together when they got home from school, after all, the teachers had them all day, it was my turn. :(

I'll keep your Mom in my thoughts and prayers, I'm sure with your help, she'll get better soon.

Love & hugs
'D'

Well, I guess the old saying......everything happens for a reason is sure the case. Now you are available to take care of your Mom. Once things settle down on that front, you can look about finding work.

Good luck and take care!

Hi Robyn! Murphy suffers from chronic yeastie ear infections & after another $500 vet bill, I started looking online for preventive care. I ran across information about Zymox, I pick it up at the vet office & it's helping immensely! It's an ear cleaner with enzymes that help to prevent the yeast from growing. It might help Miles too. ♥ Diane

Hi Robyn
I'm so sorry that you lost your job --I know how upsetting that is! ;-(
Sadly I know so many who were in the same situation this year but luckily almost all have found another position or went back to school to change professions. Good luck with your search! I hope you find something even better.

Celluitis is not fun and hard to heal ..I'm glad you are able to give some extra help to your Mom now.

Better days ahead!

PS,
I did not make it to the fair this year...I'll have to read all about it from you :)
